Spring Has Sprung!

Let the whole thing flower: the poem and the person writing the poem.
Let us always be kind in this world.
~ Natalie Goldberg “Writing Down the Bones”

The yard is alive with blossoms!  It is indeed spring.

Meanwhile more works progressing, with hand stitching time.

And socks are in process.  The yarn is Madeline Tosh, Esoteric is the color.  The pattern is Cookie A's Asymmetrical Cables (though I foresee making changes) from Ann Budd's book "Sock Knitting Master Class".  My first cable knitting and having fun.

Wonderful Painter's Keys post by the late Robert Genn entitled "Your Thinking Words" on the power of words to shift how we feel.  Viktor Frankl's book "Man's Search for Meaning" is on my reading list.  Check out the post.

If you give your mind too much time to contemplate a beginning when you sit down to write, your monkey mind might meander over many topics
and never quite get to putting a word on the page.

I am reading Natalie Goldberg's "Writing Down the Bones".  Aware of her book for years, it took until now to actually sit down with it (after hearing her talk in podcast).  I guess the time is ripe.  What she shares about writing could be applied to any practice.. meditation, art making....  Natalie is a long time Zen meditation practitioner which inspired her writing of this book over 30 years ago.  I am relishing it.

The sketches continue to intrigue me.  Thoughts??
