Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
~ Rumi, excerpt from "The Guest House"

WIP Linda A Miller

Playing with fabrics after a long hiatus. Warming up to creative flow.   Allowing imperfection....  imperfect is my word for this year.  There is more aliveness and room to breathe within imperfection, while perfection feels rather tight.  How does it seem to you?  Stay tuned for more.

In sync with these lines from Leonard Cohen:

Ring the bells that still can ring.
Forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack in everything;
that's how the light gets in.

Beginning to move out of my hibernation, I related to this thoughtful post on solitude by Parker Palmer via the On Being site.  While on retreat Palmer finds catharsis in being forced to sit with one's angels and demons. Interesting reading.  (I have subscribed to On Being podcasts for many years, finding the dialogs between Krista Tippett and her interviewees very engaging.  Visit On Being.)

  1. Nice composition and good word for your year. Always an important thing for an artist to remember. We are often too hard on ourselves when we create.

  2. Soul sisters from different directions! I too am a KT fan...and PP too...and Cohen...some of the time...

I welcome your comments!
