Cotton, applique, couched, hand embroidery,
oil sticks, machine quilted

About "Shining Grace"... I quilted and washed the magenta/purple section for shrinkage texture.  Applique, couching and oil sticks were added over the surface after.  The sky background was assembled from a mixture of prints in this manner:  Wonder Under was ironed to the fabric back, which was then cut into strips and woven.  The section was ironed to the batting and stitched down.  The sun was appliqued on top and hand embroidery added.

I have been a member of QOTW since 2010.  QOTW is an art support group established to facilitate professional growth, exchange information, and educate the public about the art quilt medium.  We meet every other month for sharing and lively discussion.  Members come from all over Southern California.  New members always welcome!
