Mary's Words

"Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
With your one wild and precious life?"
- Mary Oliver, from "The Summer Day"

work in process...

American poet, Mary Oliver's poems keep finding me.  I am taken in by the imagery and feeling coming through her words.

“Instructions for living a life.
Pay attention.
Be astonished.
Tell about it.”

  1. Beautiful richness of colour to that WIP, Linda. I have 3 of Ms. Oliver's books and a CD of her reading "Blackwater Pond". My favourite, though, is "Peonies". :-)
