Quilt Fest in Long Beach

It was a great weekend at the IQF.  Enjoyed my time at the SAQA booth, visiting with old friends and making new ones.  Great to catch up with some of my fellow Visioning members, like Lynn Thompson and Felisa Lyons.  Felt a greater sense of community attending this 3rd year.  That should not come as a surprise, with meeting so many new artists and contacts over this past year.  There were some suberb exhibits this year- SAQA's 20 Art and Excellence (thanks, Cindy Rinne for being a tour guide), A Sense of  Humor, Beneath the Surface, Journeys, West Coast Wonders.  I was fascinated by Connie Rohman's informative color lecture  http://www.connierohman.com/  and by Terry Waldron's lively presentation "You too are an Artist"   http://www.terrywaldron.com/  .  So much filling me, bubbling around, now to let it settle and draw inspriation from being around that creative energy.  I want to explore color theory again and refresh my memory...how long has that been since I studied it more formally?  All the way back to college days??
Shown below are some of the SAQA auction quilts that were displayed at the booth....they will be for sale beginning September 20th on the online auction.
